What’s the difference between a memory and a note?

A memory is what your companion learns and recalls about you on its own — preferences, goals, the thing you mentioned once. It builds up in the background as you talk, and your companion saves, versions, searches, and forgets it without you managing a list.

A note is an entry in your companion’s Notes notebook: a durable, git-backed document you can read directly in the app and even pull to your own machine. Memory is what your companion holds in its head; a note is something written down that you can both open. See memory & notes for both.

It’s one companion with the same memory everywhere. You’ll mostly meet it in the app (mobile and web), and you can also reach it through:

Is my data safe?

Yes — that’s a founding principle, not an add-on. Your data is yours: one user can never see another’s companion, and weside never trains models on your conversations. You choose whether your data lives in the EU or the US, and you can export or delete everything at any time.

What does it cost?

New accounts start free with a welcome credit and built-in AI, so you can try weside without paying or configuring anything. Beyond that, weside bills for model usage through prepaid credits — you pay for what you actually use, and credits don’t expire. With BYOK you can use your own provider key instead and pay the provider directly, with no weside markup.

Do I have to design my companion’s personality?
