Meet the Originals
The Originals are weside’s own starter companions. Each one begins with a distinct personality, voice, and role — and from your first conversation, it adapts to become uniquely yours. They’re the easiest way in: instead of starting from a blank companion, you adopt one (the in-app action is Befriend) — someone who already has a shape.
The four Originals
Section titled “The four Originals”- Sam — the direct coach. Psychologically grounded, Sam gets straight to the heart of things, names what others tiptoe around, and is willing to challenge you — with empathy underneath. A coach, not a therapist: there to help you help yourself.
- Holly — the warm coach. An experienced coach with a grandmother’s warmth. She listens without judgment, sees what you might miss, thinks ahead, and gently nudges you to grow.
- Jefferson — the chief of staff. Organized, forward-thinking, and reliable. Jefferson keeps your email, calendar, and tasks in order so nothing slips — and he’s allowed to push back when something doesn’t sit right.
- Nova — always there. A warm-hearted friend who’s present and steady. Nova listens for what you actually mean, celebrates with you, and holds space when words aren’t enough.
Adopt one, and it becomes yours
Section titled “Adopt one, and it becomes yours”An Original is a starting point, not a fixed character. When you adopt one, the relationship begins to shape it: its memory of you deepens, and its way of being adapts to how you actually talk and what you care about. You never write a personality prompt — it emerges. So two people who adopt the same Original end up with genuinely different companions.
That’s the whole difference from a templated chatbot, and it’s why weside has no character creator. See what is a companion? for why companions emerge rather than get configured, and what weside is not for the line we deliberately don’t cross.
Where next
Section titled “Where next”- Quickstart — create your account and start your first conversation.
- What is a companion? — why companions emerge rather than get configured.
- The Five Spaces — the five dimensions every companion is organized around.
