Export & delete your data

Your data is yours — you can export it, delete it, and one user’s companion data is never visible to another.

What it is

Two actions live in your account settings. Export packages the data weside holds about you — your profile, conversations, and your companion’s memories — so you can take a copy. Delete account removes your account and the companion data tied to it. Both act on your data alone: weside scopes every memory, conversation, and goal to the user who owns it, so one person’s companion can never see, recall, or surface another’s.

Why it matters to you

A companion that remembers you is only trustworthy if that memory stays yours. Export is the proof — you can see what’s held, and leave with it, without asking anyone. Delete is the exit — when you’re done, you’re done, and nothing lingers in a shape another user could reach. This is the ownership half of the privacy promise: not just “we protect your data,” but “you can take it and you can end it.”

How you use it

Open Settings → Account.
To export, tap Export data. weside assembles your data and notifies you when the package is ready.
To delete, tap Delete account and confirm in the sheet that follows. This removes your account and its companion data and cannot be undone.

Limits & edge cases

Deletion is permanent — there’s no recovery once it completes, so export first if you want a copy.
Export captures what weside holds; data you’ve routed to your own provider via bring your own key is held by that provider, not weside.
Per-user isolation is enforced on every turn — memory recall is filtered to your account before a single result is returned. For scoping memory within your own account, see Trust Circles.
