Account & security

Your companion lives behind your account — one account, the same companion across the app, the web, and every other surface. Here’s how to create one, how to sign in, and where everything about it sits.

Create your account

Open weside.ai and sign in — there is no separate sign-up form. Enter your email address, and weside emails you a 6-digit code; an address that has no account yet gets one when you enter the code. You start on Spark, the free plan, with a model already provided. Right after the first sign-in you confirm the terms and the privacy policy, and you need to be 18 to hold an account — see account security for why that number and not the content rating beside it.

After that comes the meeting screen: every Original as an equal card, one tap, and a naming sheet. It is not a settings wizard and there is no step that asks for your tone or your traits — the Quickstart walks the whole path, and what is a companion? says why a personality isn’t something you fill in.

Sign-in options

You can sign in with your email address and a code, or with a linked provider: Google, Microsoft, GitHub, Apple or Slack. All of them lead to the same account. There is no password: each email sign-in gets a fresh 6-digit code by email, so there is nothing to forget or reset. If you have set up a passkey, you can sign in with it, and if you have set up an authenticator app, weside asks for its code after the email code.

Slack does one thing the others don’t: the same link that signs you in also connects Slack as a channel you can talk to your companion in. The other four sign you in and nothing more.

Where your account settings live

Everything about your account sits in the ACCOUNT panel on the Home surface — not under a settings menu somewhere else. From there:

  • Sign-in & Security — change your email and manage Connected accounts: link another sign-in provider or unlink one you no longer want.
  • Connections — connect Telegram, Slack or Microsoft Teams, and confirm a pending connection request. See channels.
  • Export data — a ZIP of what weside holds about you, by email, valid for 24 hours.
  • Delete account — the account is deactivated at once and permanently deleted 14 days later, so a deletion made by the wrong tap is still reversible in between. See export & delete.

One thing that is not in the account panel: which memories your companion may recall where. That is a Trust Circle, managed in Settings and assigned to a room.

Your data stays yours
